    • This is where 'the old ways' like a simple email to the 'boss' with the vitals of the Flight are more my cup of tea.
    • FS9 on the Win10 machine for the grandkids, FSX on my main machine, waiting for MSFS24. I'm down. I actually have a bunch of historic flights in Alaska already good to go in phpvms format: Wein '67 (F27)m Reeve '75 (L188, YS11), Pen Air 2008 (Metroliner) and Era mid-2010s (DH81, B1900). Alaska Adventures VA is out there, but definitely caters to MSFS2020, and barely keeps any FSX/P3D stuff. There's also the matter of how flight tracking would be done. I would suggest paying a visit to FS Hub, as their simple client is a joy to use, and works in FS9 too.
    • Not sure the reviews that used to be on the front page of the old Flightsim.com site would show in a user's forum post history. @Adrian K, or maybe @Nels_Anderson, might be able to help.   Actually, some articles going back to 2018 might be found the Featured Articles forum, way down at the bottom. Unfortunately, it looks like almost are are posted under Nels' account, so it's a bit harder to find articles by the original author.   https://www.flightsim.com/articles-vb/featured/
    • Well, let's see here...   The OP originally posted his question on January 27, 2024 but did not cite the Date he originally posted his Review. Going through every post that mentioned 'Aharon' back to 2020, there is no listing for his Review; the majority of them being Screenshots with a couple posts here and there in the Hardware Forum.   The post from today by 'geradflopme' is a bump from the OP and as Skorna indicated has nothing to do with the original post.   Therefore, wait for Aharon to see this and see if he responds. My read is that it could have been lost in the Migration to the new Forum Software or it's in Forum Purgatory, floating around somewhere in the FlightSim ether, uncategorized and lost in the wilderness.   This was Aharon's last post here to this site:     EDIT 1758 MDT: Aharon has been at SOH, and posted there earlier today. I posed my question to him via PM, and will await his Response. 🙂
    • I've searched this site to no avail aharon.   It doesn't show under your postings via your screen name or advanced search. 🤨
    • You realize that's not what he was asking about, correct?
    • Microsoft Flight Simulator’s official website often has updates and development news which may include information on software releases and reviews. Fly Away Simulation is a comprehensive resource that provides news, reviews, and add-ons for flight simulators. They cover a range of simulators including the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 release. Flightsim.to is another popular site where users can find a plethora of flight sim add-ons and reviews. It’s a community-driven platform where you can find both free and paid products.
    • Dave,   Have any thoughts as to Aircraft? Were you thinking the 'traditional' Types; Beaver, C206, Swineboat (Otter), Norseman, etc. or something larger like B1900, dinky Dash 8's up to B737-200's? Just curious... your idea sounds intriguing, if you'd let an old geezer using Nine play along! 😋
    • I think I finally solved the issue with FS2020 not starting up because of a CLiP ID mismatch according to the message I received in Windows 11.  I used to do the workaround (Shift + F10 during the Windows 11 installation) for installing Windows 11 with a local account bypassing the need for my Microsoft account for Windows 11 installation.  Today I reinstalled Windows 11 but this time I linked it to my Microsoft account instead of creating a local account (using the Shift + F10 trick) during the setup, even though I prefer to use a local account instead.  So far no issues starting up FS2020 due to CLiP ID mismatch to my device that I mentioned earlier in this thread.  Is it best to just to link Windows 11 to my Microsoft account during the installation of Windows 11, especially if I'm going to be using a Microsoft store app such as FS2020 (Microsoft Store version) since I need a Microsoft account anyways to play FS2020?  Never had this issue in Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Pro never insisted on a Microsoft Account during installation, at least I didn't have to perform a trick to bypass requiring a Microsoft account for the Windows 10 Pro installation.  Also before the 1.37 update for FS2020 I didn't have this issue in Windows 11 either.  Strange how I can use a local account in Windows 10 Pro and not have this issue in FS2020 but if I use Windows 11 Pro I need Windows 11 Pro linked to my Microsoft account and link it during the installation process at that as I tried linking it to my Microsoft account earlier today instead of my local account but that didn't solve the issue until I actually reinstalled Windows 11 and linked it to my Microsoft account during the actual setup of Windows 11.  Also does anyone here get an issue when starting the XBox app for the first time after a Windows 10 or 11 installation, mention that there is a problem that needs to be fixed in the Microsoft store app where then you must reenter your Microsoft account user ID and password.  Also would I still have the same issue if I bought an actual Windows 11 Pro retail than using the free upgrade promotion from Windows 10 Pro that's tied to my Windows 10 Pro retail license?
    • I think you guys are 100% correct on the whole latency and CPU choking. I lowered the visual specs by quite a significant margin, and it improved them quite a bit. Didn't get rid of them, but improved them. I read that autogen scenary and I can only assume all the add on planes from millviz and iris choke hard due to their extreme detail. Weridly some planes function better on 16 bits, some function better on 24 bits... so i just keep the control panel open and swap when I swap planes. Also with one particular plane I swapped back to a different plane, and swapped back, and it fixed it.    As far as DPC latency, that is for sure causing it. But I get very limited results disabling/turning programs off. I read that windows 11 can cause quite a bit of DPC, so I think a complete refresh or switching to windows 10 might help. I have to remember that this game came way before the windows 11. But for sure it is clipping even when I am not playing the game.    --- EDIT: when I switch to the F35 and then to another plane, it gets rid of almost all of it... Man computer coding is so weird.
    • Kit,   When you start making your way West across CONUS, I'll hook up with 'ya! Can't take you to Lunch at The Perfect Landing though, 'cause they had a fire this past Tuesday! 🫢   https://kdvr.com/news/local/fire-perfect-landing-restaurant-centennial-airport/   I'll have to 'make up' the Intercept, though... and I don't have Image manipulation software to make a Screenshot with us in it. 😋
